Post-Natal Sex

Don't worry this isn't going to be a post about that fruit bat Gina Ford telling womenfolk if they want to keep their man they need to spread their legs before their stitches have healed...  

When a couple have had a baby they will, at some point, want to resume their marital bedroom antics and get jiggy-jiggy with it.  It's inevitable that they will want to re-acquaint themselves physically as well as emotionally and have some time alone to concentrate on each other instead of their off-spring. 

Introducing the New Donkey(s)

You know how I was banging on the other week about feeling bad about bastardising the Catalan donkey... well a couple of people in the online world leapt to my aid and came up with some fantastic replacements.

Which leaves me with a small dilemma, because I only really needed one donkey but now find myself in possession of a brace of donkeys.  Trouble is, I really like them both.

Guest Post - Bavarian Sojourn

Welcome back to another one of my Guest Posts introducing a fellow expat and their take on what being an expat means.  I'd always thought that once you'd been an expat then moving countries again would be less fraught, stressful yes, but at least you'd kind of know what you were letting yourself in for.  Apparently I know nothing! Emma from a Bavarian Sojourn is an expat twice over, she talks the difficulties she experienced when she moved from Denmark to her new home in Munich.

Things About Blogging I Care About

Following a bizarre week in blogging which started with a tale of a blogger who was offered some shoes to review, all's good in the hood she thought until she read further down the email to discover that, due to financial circumstances, they could only send one shoe!  This made me laugh.

The week then went about its merry way without much fuss until last night, when all hell broke out in a biscuit tin because there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why some bloggers are including in lists and rankings, and others are not.  This also made me laugh.  Probably too much, but hey I'd had a shit day.

So, I thought because I've not actually written anything this week I'd share with you all what I think is important about blogging and what I couldn't give two flying figs about.  And also because I read this from notSupermum. I'm going to separate them into 3 piles, because I like piles... actually, scrub that I don't like piles.

Guest Post - On the Threshold of Africa

One of the reasons I decided to set up this guest post slot for other expats is because I am genuinely fascinated at other expats stories, how they came to be in whatever far flung country they reside in, whether their experience is a good one or bad one?  Whether they feel they could never return to their birth country or if they would jump at the chance to 'go home'.

When I came across On the Threshold of Africa I sat down with a cup of tea and read and read and read.  I love Africa, and I've been to Kenya myself.... but live there?  Well this lady does, so please read her fascinating post and then add her blog to your google reader! 

  

Rebranding - Losing the Donkey!

I need to rebrand (yeah, I do think I'm Victoria Beckham, what of it?), I feel a fraud, a fake, a charlatan, a ... oh you get the picture.

You see, the stripy donkey is stolen, he/she/it was never mine to use and become associated with. To be fair to myself I used it as a profile picture first on twitter because I'm extremely camera shy and I wanted something that stood out.  I also wanted something that was relevant to where I was geographically.  So the donkey kind of stuck.
